LEEP is a not for profit organisation and is a partnership of most of the council licensed Riding Schools in Leicestershire. Hinckley Equestrian Centre is a founder member of LEEP and we act as secretary to the organisation.

LEEP believes that riding should be a FUN, SAFE, HEALTHY and REWARDING activity for all of the family. Riding is, however, a risk sport we would therefore urge you to LOOK FOR THE LOGO and ride at a LEEP school. LEEP membership confirms that your riding school is approved and licensed by the district council. This means that they will have been inspected to ensure they meet stringent safety standards including;

• Annual Health & Safety inspections by the HSE
• Annual inspection, by a qualified Vet, of all the horses and ponies used for the riding school.
• Public liability insurance.
• Safety equipment (Riding hats etc.) that conforms to the latest British Standards.
• An annual check is made by the council on the horse's accommodation.
• On site first aid person and equipment.
• Tack and other equipment regularly checked for safety.

 

Who can ride at a LEEP school?

In short.... ANYONE!!! Whether starting from scratch or or hopping back on after a break, advanced, intermediate or novice; dressage or jumping, LEEP schools can cater for all shapes, sizes, levels and abilities. Most LEEP schools will take people from 5 years upwards, some younger. There is no upper age limit.
